The short version: DivorceParty Evidence never uploads your messages. The desktop app backs up, reads, analyses and exports your messages entirely on your own computer. The only information we hold is what we need to sell you a license and keep it working.
What stays on your computer
Your iPhone backups, messages, contacts, photos and attachments, your tags, notes and highlights, your searches, and every export you create. The message library is encrypted with a passphrase that only you know. We have no copy of any of it and no way to recover it.
What we collect
- When you buy: your email address, your name if you give it, and Stripe's references for your checkout and payment. Stripe processes your card; we never see or store card numbers.
- Your license: the license, its status, and the computers it is activated on — for each one, the computer name you see in your account, its operating system, the app version, a one-way hash that identifies the computer without revealing anything about it, and when it was activated and last checked in.
- If you create an account: your email, name, a hashed password, any passkeys or two-factor settings you add, and your sign-in sessions (including the IP address and browser they came from).
- Operational logs: our servers keep short-lived technical logs of requests, used to keep the service running and secure.
What the app sends us
When you activate, and occasionally afterwards to confirm your license is still valid, the app sends your license key or activation token, the computer's hashed identifier and name, its operating system and the app version. Nothing else. The app works offline once activated.
How we use it
To deliver and activate your license, send your key and receipts, provide support, handle refunds, and prevent fraud. We don't sell your information, show you ads, or use tracking or analytics cookies. The website sets two cookies: your session, only if you sign in, and your language choice, only if you pick one.
Who processes it for us
- Stripe, for payments.
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts this website and our license database, and sends our email.
How long we keep it
License and purchase records are kept for as long as your license exists and as long as we're required to keep sales records. You can release computers from your account at any time, and ask us to delete your account.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing support@divorceparty.ai. Deleting your purchase records ends your license.
